good morning District 29 Scholars my name is Doctor Crystal Barnes and I'm the superintendent of District 29 the community that shine many students ask what does a superintendent do well as superintendent I responsible for supervising the district the operations and the people to ensure that you have access to meeting your goals and your potential I'm so excited start the new school year as superintendent here because I know that this District 29 has Superstar students I also want you to know that I attended School here in this District as a young person I thought of my first teaching job here and my old children went to school in this District so we already have a lot in common we are connected this is literally a full circle and coming back home to District 29 I've been working with your principles to ensure that you have a great school year because you deserve the best I wake up each day every day thinking about all the young people into 629 / 20000 I think about what we need to do as adults to support your social and emotional and academic growth and when I'm meeting with your principal your teachers and your family I asked them how are the children because that is the most important thing to me how you are doing no we will do our best and whatever it takes to ensure that you have a wonderful school year you deserve nothing but the best so now that I've shared a little bit about me and my couldn't miss towards gaining access for you for all of you I asked you to help me because along with your principal in your teachers I need your help and collaboration to ensure that you have an amazing school year so here's what I need you to do one remind yourself that you are the best you are the best and you deserve the very very fast beautiful and you matter to have a positive attitude because your attitude determines your success be kind to one another sprinkle kindness like confetti smile a lot what's wrong with people most people with my right back at you 3 help each other we are our brothers and our Sister's Keeper for get involved in Student Activities sport debate team Student Government I will be meeting with student leaders to help me understand what opportunities you would like to see more of in your school number 5 in a hard dedicated as much time as you Duke to Longview outside activities including television and video games dedicates the more that time to your study said what you put in your get out and good grades help you to be successful and you feel good when you have the great picture academic goals for each subject now quite often we may need help please please reach out for help when you need it the teachers your community our community we will be for you the one that note I look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks as I conduct School visit all the best for new school year Scholars of d-29 because it's you that makes a district shine take care of
